The design draws on the legend of the demigod Māui, who used a magical hook to fish up the North Island — Te Ika-a-Māui. Intricate spiral designs known as pitau or takarangi represent the flow of knowledge and experience through time.
The hei matau symbolises good luck, good health, prosperity, abundance and safe travel over water. Finished with a touch of iridescent pāua inlay. Available in two sizes: 210 mm and 260 mm (the larger size carries a small surcharge — mention your preference in your enquiry).
